James B. Hartline is well known on the Internet, primarily for four things:

There are dozens of James Hartlines in this country and James “B.” is not the only James Hartline on the Internet. That’s why he always uses the middle initial “B.”on his main sites.
On some web pages of other people, he may be listed as “Jim.”
Born in north Alabama, J. Buford Hartline, when he was 18, given a choice by his mother of what the J. on his birth certificate stood for (Jay or James), decided on his fathers middle name, "James." He had five ancestors by the name of James. Thus the nickname "Jim."
Christian
James B. Hartline has regularly attended church all his life, starting out in the Church of God as a child, then the Methodist Church until he was born again in 1975. He has studied the Bible for years and has done a lot of teaching. He is vitally interested in the truth of the word of God and that is his emphasis on his Christian web pages. He is a television engineer and worked for CBN for 14 years. He has some views, on several subjects, that differ from those espoused by Pat Robertson, but has a lot of admiration for Pat, saying "many Christians have views that vary a little from others." If you read Jim’s writings you will see that most of the difference of opinion is related to the "End-time," not matters that will make or break your salvation, yet important for living an overcoming Christian life, which should be the goal of all Christians. http://www.AfterGT.homestead.com
Genealogist
Jim is also the Hartline family genealogist and has a vast web page of family information, based on a book he wrote in 1978, "Hartlines in America" This is not a religious matter, however, you will find scripture interspersed between articles on his genealogy site. He is careful to maintain accuracy in his genealogy as well as in his Christian writings, however, unlike the Bible, which is absolute, for the genealogy site, he has to depend on material sent in by other family members, and occasionally an error creeps in. These are quickly corrected, when the correct information is supplied to him. Jim has authored other web pages for the Hood family, Evans, Peacock, Meares and Elisha Brinkley family, all relatives.
Health
After a stroke at fifty-two and two heart attacks, Jim has changed his eating habits to basically raw vegetarianism. He and his wife have both improved their health by this change. He is now 78 (2014) and still working fulltime and active on the Internet, still studying and writing.
There are also three addresses listed on the Internet for James B. Hartline. This is because he changed jobs twice in the past fifteen years. He lived in Chesapeake, VA and moved to Johnson City, Tennessee in 1992 where he had an email address litebub@xtn which is no longer valid.
